A very important message from Ms. Tammy about self defense training
I am speaking to you today from my heart as a woman who has been on the wrong side of an attack and who has trained in martial arts for more than twenty years because of that. I am now a 5th degree Black Belt in Kenpo and Level 6 Instructor in Krav Maga and was named Female Krav Maga Instructor of the Year by the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame. If you are truly seeking to learn to effectively defend yourself the last thing you should do is go to a school that gender trains when teaching martial arts or self defense classes! What I mean by this is separating students by gender or all women's self defense courses. Although you may learn some very effective awareness techniques in these programs, I am telling you from experience you cannot learn to defend yourself against a real attack by a sizable male training with a room full of women. I'm not saying we as women can't teach, as a certified Krav Maga Law Enforcement Defensive Tactics instructor, I teach rooms full of both men and women! But I would have never obtained this skill level if I had gender trained and I know for a fact the same applies to learning self defense. At Logan's we never gender train, our specialty IS self defense! And yes in addition to our regular martial arts classes we teach women's self defense courses of all levels both group and private classes as well as specialized at risk corporate training, but you will train with and against highly trained Instructors both male and female. This will provide you with much higher odds of being able to fight if you must!!

Passing of a Legend. 12-07-2013
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Sijo Victor "Sonny" Gascon the founder of Karazenpo Go Shinjitsu. Karazenpo is where most of our White thru Black Belt material comes from like Combinations 1-26, Kata's 1-5, many early Kenpo punch techniques(Kenpos)and much more. Sijo Gascon's legacy has left us with a very rich and powerful system and many world renowned martial artists and teachers. So We thank this humble,quiet man for his teachings.And offer our heartfelt condolences to his family and students of these many years.
May he Rest In Peace.

We had a Fantastic time at GM Vera's Kajukenbo event in Shreveport this year. Sigung Bill and Master Tammy were honored to be asked to teach again this year. And it was such a great time to visit with old friends and make some new ones. Miss Tammy taught connections of Krav Maga into Kajukenbo and Mr. Bill taught Silat and Kali techniques and how they connect to Kajukenbo also. It was a Wonderful Event and a Blast

On Oct 13th ,2013 Mr. Bill was promoted to 7th degree Black Belt in Shreveport LA. by Grand Master Jay Vera witnessing this promotion was 9th degree Gm Manuel Arcos,Gm Dan Frazier,Gm Michael Park,Gm Joe Cayer,Gm John Liptak, Master Tammy Logan and many other Sigungs, Masters and Blackbelts. This makes Mr Logan the only Legitimate 7th degree in Tallahassee in Shaolin Kenpo/Kajukenbo or New England Kenpo from the Pesare lineage.

We had a great time at GM Vera's seminar. It was an honor to be asked to teach again with so many high ranking Professors and Grand Masters in the room.. It means alot when they come up and say "We really like your stuff. Keep teaching like that !!". We feel really blessed to have such great instructors and Mentors.
Passing of a Legend.
It is with great sadness that I write this. We lost one of the last Greats in our Kenpo history Senior Grand Master S.George Pesare on Oct. 14th, 2012. He is the Great Grandfather to all of us who train and teach East Coast Kenpo, Shaolin Kempo.If you studied Cerio's Kenpo, Villari's, Logan's,or Masters Self Defense Centers...then your material is based on much of his teachings. Grand Master Pesare will be missed and his teachings and efforts will live on in the Legacy he has given to us. Rest in Peace and Thank You sir. Oos

WOMENS SELF DEFENSE CLASS....... 8-18-2012....FREE..!!!
Logans Martial Arts partnered with ARTS Afterschool and offered a FREE Womens Self Defense class on Saturday August, 18th at the Arts Afterschool facility from 6:00-7:30pm. This was a free class for all women and teenage girls to help them learn to defend themselves in todays violent world. And they did a great job learning what was needed to defend themselves and their loved ones. NEXT ONE COMING SOON....

I received a phone call this week from a woman who was inquiring about prices for our programs. When I finished giving her the information she asked me this question..."How come you guys aren't offering a free women's self defense class in response to the recent rapes in Tallahassee like some of the other schools in the area?" My response to her was..."Logan's has offered free women's and children's self defense seminars since we opened. We do this on a ongoing basis to give back to the community. If you will scroll down and look through the pictures on our news and information page you will find pictures of some of our past free seminars, we do these all of the time as a service to the community we live in".

Seminar with Tuhon Ray Dionaldo...Aug,7.2010
We are having a seminar with Grandmaster Ray Dionaldo Saturday August 7th at 12:00pm till 2:30pm. COST is $30.00 .It is from GM Ray's system FCS Kali that we learn most all our stick and blade techniques. Grandmaster Ray has been very busy teaching all over the world for most of this year but is coming to Logan's as a special favor to Master Bill an Miss Tammy.

WOMENS SELF DEFENSE SEMINAR......4-10-10
Logan's taught a free Womens Self Defense Seminar at the L.D.S.church. The ladies had a BLAST and learned some valuable self defense skills. Seminars like these help Logan's give back to the community we all live in. This seminar was organized by Adam Knudsen to earn his Eagle Scout and he did an excellent job.

Meeting of the NEW Masters in Cape Cod. 3-12-10
We had a great time in Cape Cod Mass this last weekend.We learned a lot from Prof.Kimo an Master Dwire and we found that we are really in great company after getting to hang out with AWESOME martial artists and Masters such as Master Chris Hatch,Master Matt Barnes,Master Jessie Dwire,Justin Terrien,Marlon Wilson and Prof.Joe Rebelo just to name a few.We found out lots of things about Shaolin Kempo and the way things are in the Boston and New England areas.We made such Great New Friends and cant wait to train and exchange information with these excellent martial artists again.

Seminar Professor Jay Vera February 27th !!!!! 12:00 - 2:30
Professor Jay Vera holds an 8th degree Black Belt in the devastating style of Kajukenbo, which incorporates the techniques of Karate, Judo, Jujitsu, Kenpo, and Chinese Boxing. He is also a 9th degree Black Belt in Aiki Jujitsu, which incorporates the techniques of Aikido, Judo, and Jujitsu. Professor Vera has focused on learning a variety of styles, including Penjak Silat, Shaolin Praying Mantis Kung Fu (both under Pete Soliz), Gung Fu (under Professor Ron Pierce), and laido, The art of drawing the sword (under Shihan Ted Tabura). Over the years, Professor Vera has earned numerous accolades and was designated as one of the top instructors of Kajukenbo; an award given to him by Kajukenbo founder Sijo Adriano D. Emperado, who personally taught Professor Vera over the years. Professor Vera is one of the top Masters that continues to train and promote the Kajukenbo Self-Defense Institute, better known as the Black Belt Society.
